Security notice — Gatekeeper

Because Teaser-Factory is currently not distributed via the Mac App Store and does not yet carry an Apple developer certificate, macOS will block the first launch with this message:

"Teaser-Factory.pkg" cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

This is not an indication of malware — it simply means the app was signed outside the App Store. You can lift the block manually:

  1. Open System Settings (Apple menu → System Settings).
  2. Select Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down to the Security section.
  4. You will see a message: "Teaser-Factory.pkg was blocked …" — click "Open Anyway".
  5. Confirm with your macOS password or Touch ID.
  6. Relaunch the installer — it will now open normally.

ℹ This step is only required when installing a new version for the first time.

3. Complete installation

Follow the installation wizard steps. Teaser-Factory is installed into /Applications. Afterwards you will find it in Launchpad and Finder.

Installation on Windows

1. Download the installer

Download the .exe file.

Download Windows installer (.exe)

2. Run the installer

Double-click the downloaded .exe file.

Windows & browser protection — this is normal

Because Teaser-Factory is not yet widely distributed, Chrome and Windows may show security warnings at two different points. This is not a sign of malware — just follow these steps:

  1. During the Chrome download: Chrome may show "This file is dangerous" or block it. Click the ⋮ chevron next to the download entry → "Keep anyway" or "Keep dangerous file".
  2. On first launch (SmartScreen): If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click "More info""Run anyway".
  3. Follow the installation wizard.

ℹ These warnings only appear while the app's user base is small. They disappear automatically as adoption grows.

3. Enter license on first launch

After installation, Teaser-Factory will start and ask for your license key. You received it by email after registering.

Installation on Linux

1. Download the installer

Download the .run file.

Download Linux installer (.run)

2. Make executable & run

Open a terminal in your Downloads folder and run:

chmod +x Teaser-Factory_v0.5.20.run
./Teaser-Factory_v0.5.20.run

3. Enter license on first launch

After installation, Teaser-Factory will start and ask for your license key.

Dependency note

Some distributions require additional packages (libgtk-3, libnss3). Install them via your package manager if the app fails to start.
